H1N1 (Swine) Flu
A single shot of swine flu vaccine protects healthy adults within eight to 10 days. The vaccine is now available in CT to everyone.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Groups who have priority for the vaccine are very different from seasonal flu and based on experience by public health officials. Download the latest vaccine recommendations from the CT Department of Public Health. The risk of infection is highest for younger age groups, in the following order of priority.
- Pregnant women
- People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months
- Health care and emergency services personnel with direct patient contact
- Children 6 months thru 4 years of age
- Children 4 through 18 years of age who have chronic medical conditions
Now that the demand for these groups is met, the vaccine is available for everyone.
